Frequently Asked Questions
Can I list anything?
No, if works are deemed not appropriate for the site we will not approve them for listing. It may be that there are other and better venues for their sale and we will do our best to make those recommendations.
Can I see the work before I buy it?
If you select the security package as a buyer you will be able to deposit funds on the Listing exchange and confirm once you have seen the work that you are happy to complete at which point your funds will be forwarded to the seller.
Who is responsible for returns?
Safe shipment and the cost of return are the responsibility of the proposed buyer. Goods must be returned within 7 days for full refund
Can I list work as professional?
At the moment no. We are working on this option, but for now this is for private collectors over
I am uncertain what ARR is and if my purchase is applicable
Artist resale right is a royalty payment paid on the resale of any work of art to its maker or there estate up to 70 years after their death, where the value is above £1,000.

It is our view that the resale is applicable even private transactions and should be settled by the buyer.
Our support option include an ARR service to ensure that the right figure calculated and payement lodged on behalf of the buyer as an addition to the sale price or however agreed between buyer and seller.
What about Disputes?
Self managed transactions rely on the good faith of the community to carry out their word.
Messums Listings can advise and support resolution in the event of a point of difference. Failure to act in a manner in keeping with a community of like minds will result in termination of membership and may be furthered by litigation in the case of attempted fraud.
